About the event
We are pleased to announce the third of the Art Lawyers Association's new Roundtable Discussions.Â
The Roundtable Discussions series consists of small, closed-door discussions on topical issues in the art law world. We invite those with interest in each of the specific issues to sign up quickly, as places are strictly limited. Priority will be given to Full Members.Â
This third Roundtable Discussion will be on the topic of Irrevocable Bids at auction It will take place on 2 April  at 11am to Noon, and is kindly hosted by Reynold Porter Chamberlain at Tower Bridge House, St Katharine's Way, London E1W 1AA Please RSVP as soon as possible as  places are limited to 20.Â
Irrevocable bids have become increasingly relied upon by the major auction houses as a way of guaranteeing sale revenues for consignors. These arrangements have become both mysterious and complex. Join us for an exclusive Art Lawyers Association  roundtable discussion where we will discuss the legal agreements that underpin these irrevocable bids, and the implications for the auction world going forward. Chatham House Rules - and ALA Members only, with priority given to Full Members.
We would like these roundtables to be lively and engaging, so we ask that all those who sign up have a specific interest in the topic and are willing to actively participate in the discussion. The event will follow Chatham House rules in order to stimulate a free flowing conversation.
