About the event
We are delighted to be partnering with the British Literary, Artistic and Copyright Association (BLACA) on our next Behind the Frame event: a panel discussion exploring where art and intellectual property law meet.
The panel will bring together Celia Lloyd Davidson (Boodle Hatfield), an art and IP specialist advising heritage, arts, creatives and museum clients, Toby Headdon (Bristows), an IP specialist with a particular focus on copyright and generative AI, and artist Atalanta Xanthe, whose painting practice draws on art historical sources from the medieval Book of Hours to the History Painting tradition. It will be chaired by Camille Beckmann (Bristows), art historian turned lawyer. Together, they will trace the legal questions that arise across an artist's practice, from appropriation and authorship through to ownership, reproduction and the growing influence of new technologies on the art world.
