About the event

The Art Lawyers Association is delighted to invite its members to a special visit to the J. Paul Getty Museum on Thursday, 9 July 2026.

Members will have the opportunity to meet Stephen Clark, General Counsel of the Getty, for an exclusive discussion on the Getty's experience in art disputes and litigation. The session will offer unique insights into the legal and practical challenges faced by one of the world's leading cultural institutions.

Following the discussion, attendees are welcome to join fellow members for refreshments at the Trellis Bar, or continue exploring the museum's galleries and gardens at their own pace.

Kindly note that the Getty is expected to close for a major modernisation programme from Spring 2027 to Spring 2028 ahead of the Los Angeles Olympic Games, making this a unique opportunity to visit the museum before its temporary closure.
